This tutorial explains how to change the Administrator password or any other user passwords on Windows Server 2012, 2016, or 2019.
Requirements
- A Windows-based server running Windows Server 2012, 2016, or 2019.
Step 1: Log In to Your Windows Server
Log in to your Windows Server 2012, 2016, or 2019 using Remote Desktop. If you're unsure how to do this, refer to the relevant [tutorial](https://).
Step 2: Changing the Password
- Click on the Start button and select Administrative Tools. (For Windows Server 2016 and 2019, select Windows Administrative Tools).
- Double-click Computer Management.
- Expand Local Users and Groups in the left pane.
- Select Users, then right-click on Administrator.
- Choose Set Password... and click Proceed.
- Enter your new password twice and click OK.
Once the password is successfully changed, you'll see a confirmation message saying, "The password has been set." Going forward, use this new password to log in as the Administrator.
